PETER MUHARI
"he has outstanding musicality and artistic sense"
(Borbála Dobozy, Harpsichord professor of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Budapest)
"full of musical ideas and with a sincere love for music."
(Fabio Bonizzoni, Harpsichord professor of The Royal Conservatory of The Hague)
Hungarian harpsichordist and fortepianist Peter Muhari, having earned his degree in harpsichord performance in Budapest, furthered his studies in The Netherlands. There, he specialized in fortepiano performance with Bart van Oort and harpsichord under Fabio Bonizzoni and Patrick Ayrton.
Peter's primary focus within the keyboard repertoire is the 18th century, with Bach's music at the core of his harpsichord repertoire. He exhibits a keen interest in music composed for the revival harpsichord. To authentically perform 20th-century music, Peter owns a 1950s Ammer concert harpsichord.
Beyond his musical pursuits, Peter is captivated by politics and philosophy, often contemplating the role of performing early music in contemporary society and the challenges of contextualizing classical music for the audience.
Since 2023, Peter has been a member of the Dutch Harpsichord Society, dedicated to promoting the harpsichord and fostering connections between artists and audiences.
